Hillel Stands with Israel
Wherever we stand, we stand with Israel.
Posted: 11/21/2012
Hillel stands with Israel in her quest to restore peace and security to her citizens. We hope and pray for the safety of all peoples in the region, and support measures to put an end to indiscriminate terror. Hillel?s goal is to provide an open and safe space for students to discuss and grapple with the issues of this conflict and express their solidarity with the Israeli people. Our doors and inboxes are open, please contact us. Oseh shalom bimromav hu ya'aseh shalom aleinu, v'al kol yisrael, v'im'ru, Amein. May the One who causes peace to reign in the high heavens, let peace descend on us, on all Israel, and let us say, Amein. You can help those in need in Israel and be a part of the global Jewish community by donating to JUF's Emergency Terror Relief Fund. Funds collected go directly to helping the victims of terror and their loved ones. http://www.juf.org/help_israel/donate.aspx?source=hillel

Missing Class for a Jewish Holiday?
letter to your professor to excuse your religious observance absences
Posted: 8/30/2012
If you are missing class to celebrate a Jewish holiday, don't assume that your professors will excuse you! Be proactive and notify them in writing as soon as possible.
Many schools leave this policy up to individual professors. If you are having trouble, please let us know and we will do our best to assist you.
We have a form letter availible to present to your professors explaining which dates this fall are Yom Tov and will require religiously observant students to miss classes.
Contact us directly to receive a copy of the letter: nicholasliebman@juf.org
