Alumni Spotlight: Brian Barasch, Executive Assistant at Victory Gardens Theater

Alma Mater: DePaul University

Major: BFA in Theater Management

A Day in the Life: Brian has been working at the Victory Gardens Theater since he graduated from DePaul in 2009. He works as the Executive Assistant to both the Executive and Artistic directors. He loves working at the non-profit theater in Lincoln Park because it's "a high energy sort of place!" he says. They show only new shows, world and local premiers. "You won't see Cat on a Hot Tin Roof here."

Hillel Memories: "I got involved because I was involved growing up and in NFTY high school.  It was part of my life going into college. DePaul doesn't have the largest Jewish population. It was nice to have a community there were we could come together and celebrate in place where [Judaism] wasn't the norm." He adds, "Primarily, I was involved in creating a community."

Brian was involved this year in planning our annual Gala. When asked why he wanted to be involved, he said, "I was happy to help in the ways I could."
